Dr. Mathias Link joins Exobiosphere’s leadership team as Director for External Affairs and Strategic Partnerships
LUXEMBOURG - September 9, 2026 – Exobiosphere, the space biotechnology company advancing drug discovery and biomedical research in microgravity, announced the appointment of Dr. Mathias Link as Director for external affairs and strategic partnerships, bringing one of Luxembourg's most experienced space leaders to support the company's next stage of growth.
Over the past 17 years, Mathias contributed to the development of Luxembourg's space sector at Luxinnovation, the Ministry of the Economy and the Luxembourg Space Agency, most recently as Deputy CEO. Working at the intersection of policy, regulation, R&D, innovation and finance, he brings a strong track record of aligning key decision-makers at the top level of governments, industry and public institutions. He coordinated Luxembourg’s SpaceResources.lu initiative and led the establishment of the European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC). Throughout his tenure, he represented Luxembourg at the European Space Agency, the European Union, and the United Nations. Before joining the public sector, Mathias Link worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, Siemens Corporate Technology in Munich, and Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven. He holds a Master's degree in Microtechnical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), and obtained a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Lorraine. He is a member of the International Academy of Astronautics.

Mathias Link joins Exobiosphere at a pivotal stage as the company prepares for its first orbital missions in 2027, when its platform is contracted for permanent installation aboard the International Space Station and VAST's Haven-1 Commercial Space Station. His appointment reinforces Exobiosphere's commitment to strengthening its leadership team. Mathias Link will focus on international partnerships and engagement with institutions, space agencies, and industrial partners, helping to strengthen Exobiosphere's international presence and strategic collaborations.
