Head of Finance
Location: Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California (On-site)
Type: Full time
Eligibility: U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (required for federal grant eligibility)
Role Overview
We are seeking a sharp, execution-focused Head of Finance to lead Exobiosphere’s US financial operations and play a central role in supporting our capital raising efforts. This role blends financial management, investor relations, and deal execution—ensuring operational excellence while driving the fundraising process from strategy through close. Ideal for a finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and can operate seamlessly between spreadsheets, investor rooms, and legal counsel.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations: Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the US entity, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and compliance.
Fundraising Support: Partner closely with the CEO on the end-to-end fundraising process—building target investor lists, mapping partner relationships, setting outreach cadence, and managing qualification and conversion.
Investor Pipeline Management: Own the investor CRM, tracking soft/firm interest, sequencing key conversations, and keeping all materials—including datarooms and diligence checklists—organized and audit-ready.
Capital Strategy Execution: Coordinate timelines for term sheet negotiation, anchor/strategic investor sequencing, and allocation planning.
Meeting Flow & Logistics: Orchestrate the flow of investor meetings, roadshow logistics, and major fundraising events. Ensure internal alignment and preparedness at each stage of the process.
Legal & Communication Coordination: Serve as the internal point of contact for legal and external counsel during negotiations. Manage term sheet workflows, signature processes, and related communications.
Investor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with analysts, associates, and partners at top-tier funds. Pre-brief the leadership team, prep for meetings, and serve as a filter for high-leverage opportunities.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA is a plus.
At least 10 years of experience in finance, fundraising, investor relations, or corporate development, preferably within a startup, venture-backed, or high-growth environment.
Experience supporting or leading equity financing rounds (Series A through Series B+ ), including hands-on exposure to investor due diligence and term sheet negotiation.
Strong understanding of startup capital structures, cap tables, and venture funding mechanics.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple parallel workstreams with precision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with investors, legal teams, and internal stakeholders.
We operate as a lean, mission-driven team. Every team member is expected to proactively improve workflows by adopting tools, automating repetitive tasks, and integrating AI-driven solutions where appropriate.
Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.
