Business Development Manager – Europe
Location: House of BioHealth, Luxembourg
Type: Full time
Role Overview
Drive commercial traction in Europe by finding customers, managing the sales pipeline, and navigating EU institutions and programs such as the European Commission, Horizon Europe, EIC, and ESA. This role blends scientific credibility with business development skills to convert early interest into commercial wins. You’ll take ownership of deal flow across pharma, biotech, pharma, research, and institutional sectors—supporting both revenue growth and Exobiosphere’s broader goals.
Responsibilities
Pipeline Ownership: Manage and grow the European sales pipeline from LOIs and MOUs through to signed contracts. Support pricing strategy, scope of work development, and contract negotiations to signature.
Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and qualify new commercial opportunities across pharma, biotech, research institutions, and EU agencies. Map key decision-makers and influencers within accounts.
Customer Conversion: Convert pilot projects and LOIs into paying customers. Secure reference clients and public wins to strengthen fundraising narrative.
EU Grants: Source, build and manage partnerships/consortia under Horizon Europe, EIC, and ESA that bring in revenue or de-risk technical milestones.
Sales Execution: Deliver quarterly bookings targets. Maintain accurate forecasting and deal tracking using appropriate CRM or pipeline tools.
Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate on global accounts and coordinate key announcements that support momentum with customers and investors.
Communications: Represent the company at events, develop slides and communicate our services to a wide audience
Scientific Credibility: Leverage scientific knowledge to communicate effectively with researchers and biotech stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Design, or a related field.
5 years of professional experience in creative marketing, brand storytelling, or communications—preferably in a startup, innovation, or science-driven environment.
Strong visual design and content creation skills, with the ability to develop materials from concept to final production. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Figma and video editing tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar). Experience designing for both print (banners, stickers, posters, event displays) and digital platforms.
Proven ability to create engaging social media content and short-form videos tailored for Instagram, LinkedIn, and other professional platforms, using visual storytelling to drive brand visibility and engagement.
Hands-on experience with website content management systems, especially Squarespace, including content updates, visual layout, basic SEO optimization, and aligning web presence with broader communications strategy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex scientific and technical topics into compelling narratives.
Strong PR skills, including the ability to write press releases, pitch to media, and secure coverage in relevant biotech, innovation, and space outlets. Experience with Luxembourg and EU media landscape is a strong plus.
